When i first walk into David's bridal they were so attentive but as soon as they found out that I  wanted something a bit different then a white fluffy dress(i'm wearing silver) that was the end of it.  Even to the point that they took my name off the dressing room door while I was in the dressing room.  The sales girls (or what ever they call themselves) actually told me she need to go help someone buying a "real wedding dress".  When I went to leave the store she could resist the urge to tell me all the negative things about the other local bridal shops.  She said she knew them all because she worked at all of them before...hum who was the problem the shops or the girl that can't keep a job?

Our David's bridal is gross.  Their floor model gowns are just DIGUSTING. I can under stand maybe a little dirt here and there but they were stained, torn and a few of them were. . .GRAY!!!

And they are trying to sell these?  Any other store pulls merchandies that poor.  This was what they were offering as examples of their product!  Bad business!

The sales staff was also very rude and condencending to me. I guess b/c I was "just looking" rather than signing them a comission check.

I ended up buying my dress online and lucked out and my veil free from the Julius Bridal thread on the old boards.  They were doing a promo and all you had to do with give your address to get 1 of 3 free veils.

It arrived about a week later and Icould not have been more thrilled.  The thing looked it it could retail at a couple hundred dollars.

The one DB wanted to sell me was a discolored piece of tulle with a few sequins badly sewn on.  They wanted $175.

I've heard good things about other DB's, but I would NEVER recommend the Omaha store.  Even to my worse enemy.

If you are not a size 4 they treat you like you have the plague! The first thing they asked is shat size I am and I said a 10 in some places and a 12-14 in others...They procedeed to tell me I was plus size. toss me a catalog and "these" were the dresses that would fit me. Apparently they couldn't look up the dresses I had put on my on-line wish list.

I am healthy and shapely, but not plus size...and if I were I would still be offended. Anyway, the rep assigned to me didn't even listen to me in regards to what I was looking for. And when I asked of the range of pricing for dresses (after I tried on a few hideous things) I was told the plus sizes ranged from 3-5 thousand dollars.

I am so tired and angry I can't even type about it any more.

That does not even sound like a DB you were in. If you look in your catalogue, you will find that there is NOTHING for 3-5 thousand. Almost all their dresses come in plus size anyway.

I agree that the quality of service you get depends on which one you go to. Just like any other chain anything.

My dress was a size 12 there - pant size was an 8/10. Plus size typically starts at 14.

Plus, their plus size dresses are in their regular catalogue, so I don't know what "other" catalogue she threw at you.

And if you had a wish list picked out online, then you should already know that those dresses would come in your size.

My cousin is a size 26, and her dress was the exact same as the other bridesmaids.

Sorry, but your story sounds a liitle far fetched for a DB. I can get poor service, but the other stuff...

If you don't like them fine. But at least complain about the truth, instead of making up lies.

In Response to Re: Beware of David's Bridal: I am surprised you didn't have a good experience at the Omaha store, as I did, it was really clean and the consultant was amazing, I didn't try on any gowns that were dirty, nor any accessories that looked bad at all. I went to 3 different stores in Omaha and actually had a great experience at all

I bought my dress from David's Bridal in Fayetteville, AR.  I was a little disappointed in the sales people that they had working for them.  I was very specific in saying that I didn't want a veil, and I would be wearing boots under my dress instead of shoes.  They laid off the shoes, but everytime I turned around she was throwing veils at me.  It also took a lot to get her to come and help me with my dresses, my mom ended up doing most of it.  The only positive aspect that I had with them was that they let me leave my dress down there until I could come up with a place to store it until the wedding.  I will have to have some alterations done, but I won't be using them to do it.  There are other places a lot cheaper.

I been in DB 5 times, 2 good exepereinces, 3 bad exepereinces. The very first time I went in there I was looking for shoes, and they were extremely  helpful even though they were busy, the shoe I liked and wanted the left one was missing and they did look everywhere for it but never found it. I went back a few weeks later this time with a friend, they were completely dead it was the middle of the day during the week and they were quite rude to me. I am 23 but look young for my age and they did not think I was old enough to be getting married, they thought i was just loitering or something.  Desipite this I did go back once again looking for shoes, I found a pair I liked that were on sale, and called my fiance who was in the store next door to come and look at them, but that was a mistake, as soon as he got there a woman decide she did not need a dressing room to change and started wonder around the store topless, where was the workers than? Despite all this I did go to another DB store to look for flower girl dress, once again they made a great first impression, were very nice and very helpful. Since they were so much nicer than the other store I made an appointment with them for a flower girl dress, well we could not even check in to our appointment to 30 mins after the appointment was set, the person who was suppose to help us did not, she goes there isnt that dress in that size for her to try on and gave us a tee length dress for her to try on instead, the flower girl is wearing floor length. Then left and never came back. Finally someone found us stuck in a corner with no help, well it turns out they did have that dress in a 5 and a 7 and got those for us and then were really helpful. So in the end after taking over 30 mins to acklowedge us and another 20 mins waiting for someone to get the right dress, we had a good experience, but then once again waited 20 mins in line just to pay for the dress. Never go to a DB on a Saturday, only did that cause the flower girl had school.
While I did get a really good deal on the shoes, and the flower girl dress was very reasonable price, do not know if it was worth all that trouble.

In Response to Re: Beware of David's Bridal:
When I first went to David's I took my sister with and our sales person was so amazing.  A month later I took my bridesmaids to find their dresses and to make my final decesion.  Getting the bridesmaid dresses went great, then we met with the bridal gown sales rep, omg!  She pretty much ignored me for another bride she was also helping.  And when I asked for one of the dresses that I had tried on the month before, she said they didn't have it in stock yet.  My sister had to go out onto the floor and find it for me.  I bought and took the dress home that day, thank god. And did not go there for alterations.

I would have never bought a thing from them if they treated me that way ....

There are plenty of other stores with the same styles and better service

I actually broke out in a rash after trying on dresses at a Maryland DB!
