Hi I hope someone can help me. I´ve been looking for my dress for some time now, I´m after a tea length lace dress. I´ve not managed to find the right one, and a few people have told me to just buy a long one and have it altered to the length I want. Is this really a good idea!!!!??????

If you can draw a sketch of what you'd like, a good seamstress might be able to custom make the dress for you. They would also be the best person to ask about doing such a large change to a dress. It will likely depend on the shape of the skirt.

I really wanted lace, but couldn't find it in my price range. At first, I also wanted a short dress, but changed my mind after trying a few on. This is a short lace dress that I tried on. I liked it and its price.

There also are quite a few short or tea-length vintage styled lace dresses. I googled lace wedding dress and vintage lace wedding dress and got a lot of options.

A retro gown from the 20s or 30s might be exactly what you're looking for.

Any seamstress can make a gown of any type. Lace would be perfect for either a 20s or 30s style wedding dress; so would a material like chiffon.:)
