I spent $300 for the flowers because I went to the flower market not the florist. I had red calla lilies for my bouquet, roses for toss bouquet, carnation for parents, red rose buttonier for the bestman, white rose buttonier for my groom, corsages for principal sponsors, wristlets for 2ndary sponsors, 10 rose centerpieces, white lilies for the church, headband and basket of white mums for the kids.

I split the cost of the church flowers with someone who had a wedding 2 hours ahead of me.

To check out my flower arrangement, please see my picture at

We're spending $800 but for Calla Lilies and Roses! The whole 9...I did ALOT of research and the bottom line is, you set the price you want to pay and then find a vendor to work with you. The "rules" of budgeting a wedding are cRaZy ;0) Good Luck & HAVE FUN!!!

my email is my screenname. :( I was stupid and set it up that way. ooops.

Any information you could provide would be great. We are getting married in Placerville. So I dont know if they would work, but it is worth a shot.

LittleBean...thank you! You have basically the same size wedding party as we will have. I didn't want to spend more than $500. Now I see that is possible! Also, your bouquet is beautiful!

Misma09....I hope your quote wasn't for $700. Not for small bouquets and from what I understand sunflowers are supposed to be one of the less expensive flowers. Atleast thats what I've read in all the magazines. Lol. I definately agree, you should get more quotes!

Good Luck and congratulations to everyone!

I think mine are going to be about $600 - that includes my bouquet, 4 BMs, 1 MOH,  corsages for MOB, MOG and my godmother, bouts for 4 GM & BM, FI, FOB and my godfather, bows for the church pews, and two arrangements for the alter, and rose petals for the reception centerpieces.

My florist is a family owned and operated business.  The owner is amazing.  I'm so glad he's still in business!  I hear he replicated Jessica Simpson's wedding flowers for approx $3k.

as so many people have said how much you spend on flowers depends on the type of flower, where you are and the season, one thing most people don't realise is at certain times of year all flowers go up in price, it has nothing to do with what's "in season" (even here in central california with rose farms just a few hours away, one florist i work for still orders equadorian roses, she gets a better deal from national/international wholesalers than local ones) anyway, late january thru mid february expect flowers to be pricey because of valentine's day, then the pricing jumps up again around the beginning of may (mother's day really is bigger for florists than valentines)..florists also have a tendancy to charge more to do weddings around those two holidays, i've also seen them flat-out refuse weddings that fall within a week before or after those holidays

My sister paid  $500 for bulk flowers over the internet. her bouquet, 4 BM, 6 bouts, 4 corsages, 21 table arrangments, and some other random stuff we did around the food trays. Biggest problem. We were doing flowers until 2am on the day of the wedding. This was her bouquet.

We are spending close to $1500 for the ceremony and reception flowers. Our wedding party is pretty big also... 2 MOH, 1 MatOH, 2 flower divas, 3 BMs, my boutique and toss, the groom's bout and his 5 GMs, 1MOB, 3 MOG, 5 ushers/hostesses, 1 ringbearer, 3 lectors, 3 vocalists, and 2 altar arrangements.  Not to mention the 23 table at the reception, not all of them will have flowers.  I am using callas, roses, carnations, and hydrangea for the ceremony and feathers, candles, callas, hydrangea, and roses for the reception.

Just my bouquets, and 4 others, ran to  $325. over 30 centerpieces and large arrangements that were mostly flowering plants cost another $450 +.

Gallardia  in gold with burgundy centers,  Michaelmas Daisies ( a large 2 1/2 to 3 " aster that looks daisy-ish and has the sunflower colors as a choice), and Black Eyed Susans or African Daisies  all are in season late July through October,  all ever so much cheaper than lillies, because a single plant or bulb may yield 10 to 30 flowers, not the 1-4 stalks of lillies.
Even out of season, they are cheaper.  There are varieties more yellow, gold, or a little orangy of each.

Gallardia- Gold Dazzler and Grandiflora gold/burgundy, 3.5  and 4 inch blooms

Black Eyed Susan 4 inch

I like those colors! All those flowers would have worked for me.

I chose silk flowers. I have all sorts of stuff in yellow, orange, and a little dark purple. I spent about $300 for a heap of stuff (post-fall and clearance sales last year). My sister that arranged the flowers I posted earlier is already working on all the arrangements. I'm just hoping that we aren't up all night. That's why I chose silk over real. We could start early. Hiring a florist would cost too much, and wholesale meant scrambling to do fresh arrangements at the last minute.

I also chose calla lillies but only in a few bouquets, they can be a little pricy depending on if they are in season or not. I spent around $1500 for the flowers for my wedding. I am making the centerpeices myself to save some money.

I'm spending a little over 1200 for our flowers ... that includes bouquet, girls bouquets, boutonniers, petals for the isle, centerpieces for dinner, alter spray, reception area flowers, set up and delivery and the rentals for the centerpeices.  I'm including a photo of the centerpieces which as you can see also has candles in the 4 arms ... I originally thought it would be about 600 - 700 but was about 600 shy ... oh well they will be beautiful next month!

Our wedding is next May and our quote is $198.00 that's including everything... however white daisies are my favorite flower and they don't cost as much as MOST flowers.

Are you asking for ceremony flowers only or also including your reception flowers? It definitely depends on location but I got a wonderful florist who will charge me $580 for all of my ceremony flowers. This includes all 5 bm bouquets, 2 brides bouquets, 5 gm boutonniere, 1 groom btn, 2 large flower arrangements for the altar of the church, 10 pew swags, 2 mom corsage, 1 grandma corsage, 6 aunt corsage, and 6 uncle btns. Also the headpiece for flower girl and basket nicely decorated. Shop around local mom pop shops! This fee included delivery, set up and clean up. I live in San Diego, Ca!

Mine are costing about $800.00.  But that's for the entire wedding party and the church.
I purchased the real touch cali lilly's for my centerpieces (8 tables) and one per table with some other garnish cost me an additional $100.00

I should also mention my darn Dollar amount is so high because I had to pay in Euro, and the Euro to Dollar rate really sucks right now at .66, SO, that increased the amount that I had to pay.

COME ON U.S. ECONOMY!! HELP YOUR MILITARY MEMBERS OUT OVER HERE... GO DOLLAR GO!

I spent $2800 but it was a bit less than that until the church changed their rules and allowed flowers on the pews so I chose to get more flowers for the pews. From what I hear I got a good deal on flowers.

I spent only $781 on flowers. My bouquet alone was $113.
I have:
2 Bridesmaid/MOH boquets
1 flower girl wreath
1 flower girl headpeice( will be for my 1yr old daughter)
10 boutonnieres
5 corsages
19 centerpeices
and a throw boquet

I am using mostly gerber daisies in fushia. My bouquet is strictly daisies with beaded garland, all the others have fillers in them. The BM/MOH have long curly grass.
soon to be mrs. Coughlin

There are websites that you can order fresh fowers from that are less expensive but then you have to put the bouquets together. Costco also sells wedding flower packages.

http://www.theflowerexchange.com/Scripts/defaultn.asp
http://www.amazoniaflowers.com/
http://www.farmfreshflowers.com/

Hope this helps.

I spent $345 for m enad fiance, 6 BMs, 6 GMs, ring bearer and corsages&bouts for all family members (14 people) plus a tossing bouquet for free.  Silk flowers were a must for me because everyone in my family is deathly allergic.  Ebay - look up premierflorist
