My wedding budget is 15k for 100 guests, but my target to spend on flowers (Bouquet, Groom's Boutinniere, 6 BM/GM, MOB, DOB, MIL, FIL, 2 Grandmothers, 2 Grandfathers, small Centerpieces (tall glass vases with callas submerged in water), and rose petals for FG and Cake Table) is 1k. My bouquet will consist of a circle of ivory roses and white/green hydrangea surrounded by hot chocolate (purple in color) calla lilies. The bridesmaids will carry 1/2 dozen ivory calla lilies, boutinierres for groomsmen will also be ivory, groom's boutinniere will be purple, etc etc. The ceremony is outside in Fall so ceremony flowers aren't needed. And with the centerpieces being short of flowers (using votive candles also), it saves on money.

I have decided to go with silk flowers for my centerpieces I haven't decided if I am going to use them for the bridal pary flowers yet.  I had a hard time with the idea of spending hundreds on flowers that are going to die in two days.  I found someone that does a rally good job they don't look fake or cheap that was my only concern but they look great.

You all seem to have REALLY good prices! I live in the NJ/NY area and everything seems to be more money around here!
I meet with my florist tonight, so...I will find out what I will be spending, but I was planning around $1200 for flowers, and I thought that was vary low!!! I guess not, after reading these posts.

I live in a small town in Kentucky.  And I guess flowers here are pretty cheap.  Because for My bouquet, 5 BM, 6 boutiniers, 2 wc, and a throw away it's all costing me $100!   And we are using Roses and stephanotis.

My flowers are about $3000, but I have a big bridal party, and a really big venue... it 100% depends on how big your venue is, how big our bridal party is, and in general how many flowers you want.
I recommned taking the quote you got from the florist and taking it to several other people and see if they can beat the price.  Make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing though... I had some trouble with my initial florist (I'm no longer using her) because the contract reflected totally different (cheaper) flowers than the ones we had agreed on.  Best of luck!

We are spending a little over $4000 for all of the flowers for our wedding, but it includes ALOT of things.  It includes the bridal bouquet, 10 BM, 10 Groomsmen, corsages for 3 grandmas, 2 moms, boutineers for the priest, both fathers, ring bearer, flower girl kissing ball, 23 centerpieces, bridal toss bouquet, 2 atler pieces, virgin mary bouquet, and delievery and transportation fees.  As well as 4 staff people that will stay the duration of the ceremony and most wedding to make sure they are all in tact and look just the way I envisioned!  I'm hoping this was spent wisely :)

holy cow!! 20k? man thats a lot of money!! our budget is about the same but i just can't do it! thats so much money on something that we can only enjoy for a few hours. yes it's our wedding day, and yes its only going to happen once, but even if you have that much money why not donate some of it to charity and then use the leftover to get the exact SAME thing w/o the same price tag? there's one thing i've learned...it's that some charge a little, some charge a lot. but they are ALL the same services.

Anyways...I think ours is going to be about 700-$1000. it's still a lot but i LOVE flowers and always have. that's probably the most expensive thing in our wedding except the food!! it's expensive to feed 150 ppl! let me know if you guys have any ideas.

**I want to use calla lilies (white), red roses, and asiatic lilies (dark orange). I want to use another rose that is called coffe break! its' awesome red & orange. do you think the white calla w/ all these other colors would be ok? Our theme is ballroom blitz, so hopefully i'll be able to pull this off.
**I need my bouquet, 4 bms, 3 flwr girls, 3 mother bouts, 2 gpas, 3 gmas, & one for my aunt & uncle!! man...also need: 16 centerpieces, and 2 bouqs for the alter. how big should i make these?? HELP!!

I am spending approximately $415.00 for 750 roses, 3 different colors, from the local flower wholesaler here in Miami. I am putting all of the bouquets and centerpieces together, as well as the church pieces, with some help ofcourse!! Theres no need to break the bank over flowers, save that money for your honeymoon!! Best of Luck,

Jenny

I am right with you on the flowers I am spending about 3000+ on flowers but, I am also going for the lavish wedding in june 2010 with and 7 bridesmaides 7 groomsmen and beautiful centerpieces. I still might add more to the arrangements so the cost might go up. It depends on the vendor and the type of flowers. I am having a summer wedding and want an exotic theme so my flowers might be more expensive compaired to roses or other common flowers. Best wishes
Christina

That sounds fantastic for the silk flowers. I have started to look at silk & get prices. Where did you find such a good deal and as you say great quality for your silk flowers?

I'm spending about @400 for everything except the reception flowers. We're having a tea reception and my mom created centerpieces from teapots and silk flowers...most of the teapots came from thrift shops. My church flowers are going to be in my grandmother's 1888 antique vases, which match my attendants' dresses.

My floral consultant told me that they've had brides who spent $75,000. That just boggles my mind!  I love flowers but....

The florist that everyone swears by in my town was surprisingly reasonable.  I have orchids (which cost about $100/stem) in my bouquet, my hair piece, my cake and my fh's boutonniere.  We also have 10 other boutonnieres, 7 corsages, 3 other bouquets, the centerpieces and two floral arrangements for the flower girls.  Total, it's going to run us about $800 which I thought was VERY reasonable considering everything we are getting.  I guessed our estimate would be double but I was very pleasantly surprised!

you may want to have your bridesmaids carry a single flower.  that will cut down the cost of the flowers considerable.  You can also buy your flowers in bulk and arrange them yourself.

We spent $900. We had 3 white Gerber daisies in each vase on the table. I had daisies for my bridesmaids and lillies for me. We did corsages and bouts too.  We also had two vases for guestbook and cake table. My flower girl had a daisy crown and we had a colorful display of flowers on our wooden altar.  I know the flowers don't last long, but they are a beautiful element and definitely worth it!

My brother in law's wife made a paper flower bouquet and it was actually really fun and it will last a lifetime. It probably cost about $30.

Something else I forgot.
When choosing how many flower arrangements in a church or another building, go with fewer bigger arrangements if the place is pretty plain (no character to it).  Less but bigger arrangements is better.  The pictures will look better too.  If the church or place has a lot of character then you don't need as many flowers for the ceremony.  Save your money and spend it on an awesome photographer.  Spend about $2500 on pictures and you will not regret it al all after the wedding.  Most married people say they wished they would have spent more on a photographer after the wedding.

My finace are getting married at a church I grew up and a beautiful historical mansion on July 31st, 2010. Price of flowers was very flexible with my mother and myself. I have a large wedding party so our cost came to be around (4000.00) I wanted dramatic centerpieces, beautiful bouquets (total 8) for my BM and JBM, church arrangements, boutenires, coursages, etc.
I am getting married next July 31st, 2010- Summer and high bridal season which also increases the price. I LOVE my florist excellent reputation in the Milwaukee, Wi area and what I am doing. With hydrageas as my main flower, roses, delphiniums, cali- lillies, etc I expect the price to be high.

I love flowers and gardening!  So for each bride and their vision it is personal preference.

About 800 here-that's with only 1 arrangement for the church, and just holly for the reception tables.  We had a lot of sisters and parents though, those little wrist corsages add up.  Oh, and that did not include what my fiance payed for the mothers' and my bouquet!
