I have a copy of Klingon Hamlet.

Neither my husband nor I are big Trek fans, so I'm not sure why we have it.

Wow that's really scary!  Kaplaah!

I'm a dye hard trekkie, I've seen all the shows, all the movies, read all the books, saw some pretty interesting spin offs hehe, and the commercials are endless :-)

I miss having another tv show now!

Planting that flowering hydrangea bush where it was was not a good idea.

It took me forever to dig the thing up.:(

I can't decide which of my new shipment of romance novels to read next.

I should save the ones with the man-titty free covers to read while on a trip with my mom next week, but I want to read them now.

Unemployment makes for some very difficult decisions.

The clematis flowers have bloomed and they are spectacular. They are HUGE -- they weren't that large last year!

You know, you could just make or purchase a book cover.  Then you could read whatever soft porn your little heart desires and no one would be the wiser.  :-)

Haha. The funny thing is, the covers often have little to do with how racy a book is. I've been scandalized by books with floral covers, and I've read really well-written stories with some goofy half-naked dude on the cover.

Like, one book I read takes place in England and France. The whole book is in English, but the author had this clever way of writing where she'd tweak the grammar ever so slightly and you'd know if the characters were speaking English or French without her mentioning it. Unfortunately, the bared man-titty gracing the cover makes it look like some bodice-ripper with purple prose and a flimsy plot.

As for the book cover - it wouldn't prevent my mother from rolling her eyes at what I'm reading. If anyone else made fun of the books I read, I'd laugh and get over it. Mom, however, I'm sure I'll snap at. I'm spending a week with her in Montana visiting my brother. My patience is going to be wafer thin.

Well, then what about taking the dust jacket from another book - some classic maybe - and putting it over the cover of a bodice ripper?  She'll think you're reading War and Peace or The Kite Runner, when you are actually reading a Nora Roberts novel.

Don't you wonder sometimes who it is that approves book covers?Undecided

I think that is the thinking guy.

A very vocal segment of the romance communnity loves the half-nude covers. I guess that's why they persist. Part of every focus group must love them. I don't usually mind them. The guys are at least good looking lately, not creepy Fabio dudes.

You know, I haven't read a single Nora Roberts or Danielle Steele book in my life. Sometimes I think I should, just because they're Big Names.

I couldn't trick her into thinking I was reading literary fiction. She knows I am a strict mass market paperback fiction reader. Only the Miller High Life of fiction for me.

Then snag a dust cover of the DaVinci Code.  Or you could hollow out the Klingon Hamlet and stick it in there. lol.  Innocent

It is freaking cold for May!  We got married 2 years ago on the 26th and I would have been freaking out if it were this cold back then!  DH's family from Florida would have likely frozen to death once they got off the plane.  lol.  It was in the mid to high 70s back then, and was 95 the day before the wedding!  What gives?!

My bro lives in central CA . . . he called yesterday whilst poolside . . . 108F.

THAT is insane.  He would periodically put the phone down to take a dip and cool off.

I'd rather have the 54F we had here yesterday.

He isn't far from Bakersfield . . . he usually flies out of that airport when he comes home.  He lives in Tulare.

Thing is, when he called it was 3 p.m. there, and he said it's been hottest between 3-6 every day, so he was expecting it to get hotter.

No way I could handle it.

I did too!  I thought it was great.  Much better than the movie version of the DaVinci Code. I also thought the book was better than the book version of Davinci Code.

I watched the Davinci Code first and then read the book.

I thought the movie was better in that it moved faster.  I was going to murder David Brown if I had to read yet one more inner monolouge from Silas.Smile

I haven't read Angels and Demons.

Ewan McGreggor played a good religious spook.  It makes it so much better that he is so cute and innocent sounding, makes it that much more disturbing.
