You thought the DaVinci Code movie moved fast?  It was painfully slow!  At least in the book, things kept moving along. The movie left out too many seques for my liking and was really choppy as a result.

At least w/ Angels and Demons the movie plot progressed in an understandable manner.  The book is fantastic! You should def. get it at the library.

Ewan MacGregor is a hottie, even when he plays a priest.  Clive Owen is another example of total male hotness who just gets better and better as the years progress.  Yum!  lol.  Wink

Ewan MacGregor has those huge baby blue eyes and I melt for any guy with blue eyes.

My DH has blue eyes by the way.

If I skipped the mini chapters that were pretty much just inner dialogue on the parts of minor characters, I thought the book moved fast.

Generally I am not a huge fan of tiny 2-3 page chapters that break up the story. I felt a lot of those chapters broke up the story and some could have been cut out.

I didn't like being pulled out of the action to read yet another mini chapter that had to do with Opus Dieum or Silas.

Otherwise I would say the book was better.

I've heard Angels & Demons is better written than the Da Vinci Code.  I'll check it out from the library eventually, right now they are probably all gone.

The books that are turned into movies disappear pretty fast for awhile at the library.

Yeah, the library where I volunteer has a wait list for Angels and Demons.  I liked the mini chapters for DaVinci - I thought it provided interesting background info for the book.

My DH has blue eyes too.  :-)

I hated the DaVinci Code movie because I thought they completely destroyed the female lead's character (was it Sofie?) -- in the book, she was a spitfire who solved the puzzles her grandfather left for her. In the movie, she was a total dimwit who couldn't figure out two plus two without Langdon's help. Lame.

I need to do laundry. I've been wearing skirts to work all week because I have no clean pants.

It's hot here in AZ, but suprisingly we have overcast today, and it's nice - in the 80s with some humidity... i'm sure by midday, it'll be 100 degrees and all the clouds would have evaporated -- we have blue skies about 90% of the year, or was it 95% not sure. hehe

Yes, it was Sophie and I agree they totally watered down the character in the movie. I also thought Tom Hanks was a horrendous choice for Langdon.  There was zero chemistry between him and Audrey Tatou.  She was a brilliant bit of casting, btw.  He just makes a bad male romantic lead for a drama.  I like Tom Hanks but still think it was terrible casting - he wasn't so bad in Angels and Demons though, but they basically left out the relationship between him and the female protagonist, which is pretty hot in the book.

I've worn skirts nonstop b/c I needed laundry/dry cleaning too. It happens to everyone. :-)

I did not see the DaVinci Code.

Surprised

Admittedly I did not read the book till several years after the craze died down.

At least I get to wear scrubs tomorrow. Smile

Then just one more day until a nice, long weekend with plenty of time for laundry.

I still haven't read either of those books, nor did I see the movie, nor do I intend to see this one.

Stinky, try posting this over on the etiquette boards under the "questions about the new boards" thread.  WC Jen does seem to be reading that one, as she does comment from time to time.

I wonder if I should have been trendier with my cat's name and named her "Runtleigh" instead of "Runtly."

LMAO!  You'd have had to call her Runtleigh Madison if you did that.

I had a Starbucks Hot Chocolate today b/c I earned it after hte week I've had.

I wish I wasn't hourly, no one is here today and if I was salaried I'd just go home.  But I don't want to waste vacation and it'd probably come back to bite in me in the ass if I lied on my time sheet.

I enjoyed the hot weather yesterday with a french vanilla Coolatta and some hawt vampire romance. Today I'll rock some Orange Dry on ice and a historical romance. Nom nom nom.

I also have never read a Dan Brown book nor will I see the movies. I haven't read Twilight or anything by Nora Roberts or Danielle Steele. Don't think I've read any of the Oprah books either. If there's a book trends boat, I have missed it.

I finally got around to laundering my trousers. Good thing - there was a nip in the air this morning when I left for work. Gotta love that New England weather: shorts and t-shirt one day, long pants and jacket the next.

Wishes I could just snap my fingers and my whole house could be packed up and moved into the new house in 10 mins. Instead of it taking almost two weeks to move everything and start to unpack!

Ariel, I know! It's so cold!  We got married 2 years ago today and it was in the high 70s. We would have frozen our butts off in our formal wear if it were as cold then as it is today!

I have to figure out how to warm up the cute outfit I'm planning on wearing out to our anniversary dinner tonight.....
