I am getting married in Playa Del Carmen Mexico in November at a place called Blue Parrot Beach Club. The beaches are amazing and the town is adorable!!! It is gorgeous! Good luck! It will be beautiful wherever you go!

My fiance and I are getting married next May in Destin, FL. I have done ALLOT of personal planning and my recommendation, start by researching locations that offer the beach with the resort you stay at free of charge. I ran into allot of locations that wanted to charge $$$$ just for using the beach! So far minus 1 trip I have planned almost 100% of it all thanks to google and bing. We are getting married at a Sandals resort in Jamaica.

hi, im getting married in cancun april 2010,the beaches are fantastic...total paradise,we were there in october2008 and watched 2 weddings on the beach,they were that magical they made me cry..needless to say i flew straight home and booked my wedding right away

I'm getting married on 09-19-09 on the beach under 4 palm trees in front of the Hollywood Beach Mariott, Hollywood, Fla.We checked ALOT of places.Most of the hotels had the patio weddings and not the beach. We wanted the beach. I was very disapointed with Ft. Laurdale.Make sure the place has a wedding planner that comes with the hotel. We have Barbara Lunny and she is FANTASTIC. I live on LBI, N.J. Also make sure that you ship everything you need to the destination. I've been shipping centerpieces that we are going to put together down there, candled, cameras, napkins, ribbion, etc. I DON'T want to pack anything in my suitcase. Make it SIMPLE. I have to say there is way to much to do because it is far away. Now it's down to every last detail. I'm writing myself tons of sticky notes,because when I buckle up that seatbealt on the airplane..I CANNOT FORGET ANYTHING. We are getting married on a Sat. and then on Mon. there are 15 of us going on a Royal Caribbean Cruise out of Miami 5 days to Coco Cay,Bahamas, and Key West.I have to say when on type on BEACH WEDDINGS there is so much stuff that comes up. For our invitations we sent everyone a glass bottle with sand and shells and scrolled up our invitation and put the cork on top and ribbon around the neck of the bottle.We are having DOVES released over the ocean, and the SAND CEREMONY with our kids. Can't wait to be the BRIDE. Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS to the BEACH WEDDINGS.P.S. Don't wear shoes.

On Long Island? If not on privately owned land- you can inquire about a permit through the state parks and Natural Resources Div, as friends did for Jones Beach or Robert Moses, have done in Rhode Island. National Permit for some coastal places- like Nat'l Seashore on Cape Cod. Cheap - they tell you the no litter rules, those against liquor and fires, have someone check the site.

When considering a destination wedding, do be sure to think about the finances of your and FI's friends and family before you decide if it's appropriate.

But being from New York, there are a lot of great places that aren't too far away. I'd check out Connecticut first.

If I could afford it, this would have been my first choice for a wedding. The place is totally amazing - on Cape Cod.

My fiance and I are living in Oahu, HI. We are planning a wedding here on the island and have many places that are private estates that offer wedding packages and guests can stay right there in the private estate. The prices vary of course but the prices usually include all details though, from catering to decorations to staff. I used this website and google and have gotten lots of ideas/locations!!

We are getting Married at Sun Palace in Cancun. As another poster mentioned, the beaches are absolutely gorgeous. We aren't having any guests. However if we were to have guests, we would have had it much closer to home (We're in central NY). There are plenty of beaches over here on the east coast that are fair game. There are some nice beaches in the Carolinas.
