I just heard it through the grapevine, that my FI's uncle, called his mother to ask if their 16 y/o daughter (so my FI's cousin) could bring her boyfriend to the wedding.... My wedding is in 8 days! What the hell??? Not only was he definitely not on the invite, nor was he mentioned 7 weeks ago when I sent out invites, but I'm fine with adult +1s, but not high school boyfriends of cousins??? Also, they are travelling 3 hours for the wedding, and staying in a hotel, so how would that work, 2 adults, and a high school boyfriend/girlfriend couple?

Luckily, the MIL said no, sorry. The final arrangements have been made with the caterer, and we cannot accomodate any more people...

Can you believe some people?

At least he asked. Some people would just show up with that plus one.

Let it go.  none of your concern which is why your MIL didn't mention it to you.

Enjoy the wedding!!!!  You'll have a wonderful day!! :)

We're getting married on the same day!  Laughing

It's nice they asked though instead of assumed.... We had a friend who had rsvp'd just himself then called this last saturday to see if he could bring a date.  we said sure since we had told the caterer about 5 more than we needed.  plus when i called in my final head count i was worried about extra people showing up.  he let me know they make about 5% extra food just for that reason.

Congrats by the way!

You're probably right, actually we had accidentally dupklicated a line on your guest list spreadsheet, and had 3 cancellations, so we have an extra 5 spaces. But if the MIL said no already, I'll leave it at that.

I'm glad someone else is getting married on Friday the 13th!
