You photographer will be there so they don't need an invite. Just make sure a meal is provided for them.

He/she may be your friend after the wedding is over but for now he/she is your vendor. No invite required but yes, make sure you have a meal available.

I would suggest sending all of your vendors an invite if you plan on allowing for them to eat. That way, they can send you back a RSVP and you can get a more accurate count of how many "guests" you will have at your service and party after.

I become closer friends with my wedding photographer as well, so I totally understand what you're asking. If you weren't that close to your photographer before you booked her, as in, if she wasn't your photographer you wouldn't have invited her to the wedding. Then there is no need to send an invite to her now. She's first and foremost your vendor :-).

I will send invites because my vendors are also my friends. I want to know if they can make it and if not who will step in. You don't have to send invitations if you don't want to, she already booked your date. But I found it was easier to keep track of how many guests we have when I treated all of the people who need a dinner the same way. They will get seating cards and the whole shebang as well. I didn't send STD cards to the vendors since they already have the date. The invitation was a gesture not that they expected it or etiquette required it.

Martha Stewart Wedding says No. He/She might be your friend now but they are still working for you. They always say never hire your friends to do your wedding. It will only cause problems. If you want to invite He/She then you should def. get another Photographer. I know I wouldn't want to be invited to a wedding to work. I would want to enjoy my self. Hold of on the friendship a little. What if you hate the pictures? Then what? BTW. Every vendor you invite should be add to your guest list anyways. If their going to be the lets say 6 hrs. don't you think their gonna wanna eat? LOL Hope that helped. XO

I agree. I am a wedding photographer and also a bride (our date is July 7, 2012). The vendors don't need or expect an invitation but a meal is always appreciated if we are staying for the speeches and dance. I did however, over the years, receive a couple of invitations and thought it was sweet of them to include me.
