You do not need ceremony programs.  My sisters and I all skipped them and no one noticed or cared. I never bother reading them when I go to weddings myself.  You  can leave directions by the guest book, or hand them out at the RD.  Good luck.

My chruch requires that we order programs from them, but if they did not require that, I honestly don't know if I would have used them. I understand why my chruch does that, they want to guests to be able to follow along with the readings and such, but unless you are having a complicated religious ceremony where people would be lost, I don' think you really need them.

You definitely don't need a program. And I sent directions with my wedding invite.

Having said that, I designed simple ones on the computer and printed them for $30 at Staples. Very cheap.

We didn't have them.  We had one reader and then the standard marriage ceremony, took like 30 minutes when it was all said and done.

So we skipped them.

I think you only need them if you are having a really elaborate ceremony or a ton of people who don't know each other.

With the exception of my MOH the entire wedding party was family.  Why would I make a program just to announce who the MOH is?

DH's cousin had programs at her wedding.  I liked it cause her wedding was so freaking long that it was nice to be able to see how long we had till it was over.Smile

Unless you feel your guests won't be able to follow along without them or in the case of misma they make you get them (that sounds so bizarre to me), they are just an addex expense.
