Our original plan was 2 weeks in Italy... this is my dream vacation at this time in my life. Our wedding in mid June of next year; so we really dont want to go somewhere tropical, in the standard honeymoon way. OUr budget kinda isnt allowing us to actually book our honeymoon at this point. Were actually depending on jack and jill (buck and doe) money, and maybe even potentially wedding gift money, so we may have to wait to go anywhere, at least for a few days after the wedding.

So I have asked my fiance to come up with a few other plans and get quotes, but hes really lost.

We are looking for scenic beauty, non tropcial alternatives to our original plan... just in case it doesnt work out.

Any advice?

What about New Orleans? The french quartier feels very European and quaint...or you could look into Napa Valley? With the vineyards, it's sort of like Italy.

Niagara Falls? It's an old school honeymoon destination, but it is so beautiful, and there are vineyards to visit, boat rides, antique stores, and the falls themselves. The Canadian side has lots of very nice hotels, cheaper than staying on the US side, and the Canadian side also has bigger falls than the NY side.

Hard to be more specific without knowing where you live and what your budget is....

We couldn't afford an expensive honeymoon either but we went to Las Vegas and had a blast for very cheap money....I think we spent $1500 for 5 days including air and hotel.
