i'm getting married this December, and have chose Chocolate brown and frost blue.
the bridesmaids have brown dresses with frost blue pashminas and the flower girls are blue with brown sashes.

we didn't want to be 'christmas-y' but maintain a formal winter colour scheme.
hope this helps

I'm getting married on New Years Eve and my main color is deep purple. I am also doing a lot of gold accents because my hubby is in the Army and his uniform has a lot of gold on it.

Will also have ivory as an accent. Or white. Unsure about which one yet. And I've thrown around the idea of green because the Army uniform is all green, but I don't think I want to match him too much. I'll probably put green into the bouquets though. It'll all be nice once I'm finished. Haha

Obviously, I'm not going with a winter theme or anything. But I did intentionally keep my main color dark because I'm praying for snow and I think it'll just look wonderful. My reception hall has one whole side of windows, looking out over a golf course, so snow would be magical =)

That sounds beautiful!
My colors WERE forest green and ivory but couln't get green dresses in time, so now they are deep red and ivory.  We aren't really having much decorations besides flowers since the church will be decorated for Christmas already, saves $.

We are planning on getting Starbucks coffee for people to have after the wedding in the church lobby while we take pictures, since it will be cold and fiance loves coffee.  And the reception tables will have holly, arranged loose in the middle.  It's about 200 for all the tables, cheaper than centerpieces.

It's so nice to hear that so many others are having or have had December weddings.  I am also getting married this December (December 11th to be exact) and my fiance and I went back and forth so much about the time of year but we are very happy with our decision!

We decided to do a deep red and ivory color mix.  It has worked out well between all of the coordination.

All of the colors discussed on here though sound beautiful!

My wedding is this December 12, and our colours are chocolate brown and copper....with a Victorian theme. We wanted warmth in our colours, and also to add sparkle (I'm a sucker for sparkly things).

For favours we have made Victorian cones, and have filled them with mulling spices (for wine or cider).  We will also be serving mulled wine and cider at the cocktail hour to warm up guests!  For favours, other ideas I considered were gourmet hot chocolate mix, pairs of mittens (you could get all the ladies you know to knit them!),  and spruce tree seedlings.

Blue and champagne sounds lovely - with those colours you could add gold sparkle details, which will add an enchanting element.  Add lots of candlelight for a warm atmosphere.  Use seasonal flowers like pointsettias - I've seen them in the champagne colour, pine boughs, holly leaves etc.

Another thing to remember is that it's often pretty wet/snowing outside in December (depending on where you live I guess...I live in Canada!), so be sure to have big absorbent rugs at your ceremony and reception entry.  You wouldn't want to slip on a wet floor.

If you live in an area that will have snow in December, you could also consider arriving by a horse drawn sleigh.  I'm doing that for my wedding and the cost is much less than a limo or fancy car.

Hope these ideas help Smile

love the icy blue and chocolate idea..... maybe even icy blue with a mocha, which is almost like the champagne you though of?
definitely like the idea of a "cold" color and a warmer color....

I like your idea for the icy blue and mocha brown colors! Sounds gorgeous! My fiance and I just decided on a December wedding, and we decided to go wih a cobalt blue with a deep purple. We live in FL, so ironically we will be having a beach wedding on 12.11.10! LOL
