My biggest fears are that something will go wrong with the vendors! I have nightmares that i totally forgot to hire the dj or the photographer! My FI and I are also having a Catholic wedding and sine there is mass at 4 and we didn’t want to have the ceremony at 2, we will be getting married at 6 and the reception will start at 7:30. The wedding site and the reception site are 30 minutes apart and I have the biggest family in the world! What if we all run late! Given these tough economic times I fear that fore some reason this wedding will just not get paid for! I have I larger then usual wedding party and I don’t want to become one of those “Bridezillas" Last but not least I just want everyone to have a good time!!!
THE LIST GOES ON AND ON AND ON!!!!!!!!
Cogratulations! In answer to your question, a professional, well-established & ethical planner will pass along any discounts their vendors provide. I have unfortunately known many however that received kick-backs or the savings went right into their own pocket so beware and interview with care. ALWAYS check them out with past clients, although their list of referrals will more than likely contain only happy campers so ask around for consultant referrals. Vendors & venues should be of help to stear you to reputable planners. In our case, all discounts went directly to our clients. If a discount was not available, that particular vendor gave added benefits and always went over and beyond what our client would have received not using us. We also had about 17 lines of invitations, gifts, favors, etc. that our ladies were able to purchase through us at cost. We had our fee to assist in the planning and our reputable vendors to refer and didn't desire to make money on the backend. Vendors want to keep planners happy so that they will stay on their referral list so the client reaps the benefit. Even if you don't save in dollars and cents, you will definately save in frustration and worry. Take it from me, even when I was in the business I hired a planner to assist me with my own daughter's weddings so that I could enjoy the day. Just knowing I had someone to field all the questions and handle mishaps made for a stress-free and fun day. I'll be hiring someone for my own wedding as well. I'll be doing my own planning and conduct the rehearsal but just having a go-to person the day-of is well worth the money as long as you have that person tollay prepared and they know what they are doing. Good luck. I wish you the best. I'm just an email away if you need any other advice. roxmcander@yahoo.com
Oh wow...I hadn't even thought of that! That will be awful!!
My fiance and I are having a large and vintage wedding in WI in on July 31st, 2010. Nine months away! I fear that the heat may get to some people; even though the church and reception mansion are air-conditioned. I hope to God that one of my groomsmen doesn't get too drunk and make a fool of himself!! We are not there to baby-sit anyone on our special day!! We are having a large wedding and just want everyone to have a great and un time that they will remember forever!!:)The future Mrs. Schaefer
