Hey everyone. I'm pretty new here and I thought I'd start a journal to track everything, but first I'll give some backround info.

My boyfriend's name s Vincent. We've been dating for over a year and a half now, I say he's my boyfriend because at this point in time, we are just dating :(. Latley there's been a lot of talk about maybe an engagment soon, he gives little hints just to let me know he's planning it. One day he even gave me a response as to when it may happen, i think his wording was are you going to propose on our two years? I joked and said yeah (I bought him a promise ring since he almost lost his original promise ring) before I got the entire word out he had to say "cause I'm going to beat you to it haaaaaaaaaaa"  So I'm thinking probly Christmas time or before February 10th. Anyway enough about that I said I'd give backround info!

Anyway Vincent and I have been dating for about a year and a half now. We are moving in together in the middle of the month and we can't be any more excited. Our son will be turing 3 on October 3rd. He's really mine from a previous marraige but Vincent has taken him on as his own. It's amazing how fast the little guy has grown! We own a 4 lined plated lizard named Slither together(the pacman frog and betta died shortly after we got them but Slither has lasted awhile) And I'm anxiously awaiting 2 "halloween" crabs. About 6 months ago we gave each other promise rings because we always knew we'd get engaged someday but it wasn't the time for an engagement.

Anyway I hope to meet a few new pals and share my stories and plans with all of you. Thanks for stopping by

Alright so I was looking at some things today and I thought instead of emailing myself the links till later, I'd post them on here so I could look at them at anytime. I was thinking also that our venue would be the Franklin Park conservatory. It was one of the first places we went together and took pictures, plus it's a very beautiful place. My second choice would be Creekside because it's close and rather inexpensive and yet still a very pretty place, plus the boyfriend and I talked about using that area for our wedding one day when we went for coldstone creamery. Whenever Vince decides to propose then he can put his input into everything, these are just my top choices at the moment.

Toasting flutes

The base of the flutes is a heart and the stems are molded into the base. The removable glass flutes are held in place with the word LOVE. You take the glass flutes out of the stems and base to toast and such. Very modern and classy. $41.48 and personalization is between $8-$12.

These flutes remind me of callalilies(my favorite flower) they sit in a vase and are very slim and sleek. I'm concourned about them being fragile though and the clinking whenever they are put back into the vase. $35 and $6 for personalization.

ALright, thats all for now. I've got everything in one spot and that's all I've been thinking for now.

I went engagement ring shopping with Vincent today. Just a few stores nothing to really pressure him because I do want to be surprised so I gave him a few ideas. We also discussed a few things last night such as colors and such. I think our colors are going to be black and blue. I think my bouquet is going to be blue baby callalies and white orchides. Well thats all for now

Alright so Thurs my boyfriend and I went to Jareds just to look at the type of rings the offered and I totally fell in love with a ring. It's soo gorgous! I love it and the best part is that it was on clearance since it's a mount they decided to stop creating. That knocked about half the original price off. I wanted to be surprised but it just seemed like this deal and that ring was a once in a lifetime offer and it really fit me. I"m so excited. I know the ring but he's still going to propose and make it all romantic so I don't know when or what he's going to do :) I'm really feeling like my dreams are comming true and I know that he's the one, my man :)

Anyway we talked  about how the budget would set up. It's not going to be super fancy with tons of flowers and an open bar ect but it's going to be amazing anyway. The budget is going to be around 10k for about 150 guests. I figure to cut down on costs I'm going to make the centerpeices and I have this really neato idea. Our colors are black, blue and white so I'm planning on buying bettas in those colors, buying some glass jars not to big but a decent size for a decent price and adding some decor to the bowls for interest I figure for about 22 tables the peices altogether will be $300, plus the fish would be available for guests to take home for free with the bowls and decor and then they double as favors.

Anouther way I'm cutting costs is I'm only hiring a flourist to do the bouquets and bouterniers all other flowers I'll purchase myself at Kroger or some other cheaper flower store. Also thebridesmaids bouquets will only be 3 or 4 flowers with hints of greenerie or hints that mimic mine.

Lastly Intead of flowers lining the chairs I'm going to use ribbon and tie black and white photos of the couple and placecards at the front door to the reception hall will also be black and white ohotos(on the front at the bottom of the white bourder will have the guest name and on the black will have which table they are to sit, or the table will be listed on the front im undecided)

My rough money saving ideas

Oh anouther money saver...perhaps I'll have a crystal bouquet. It can be around $100 for a blingy unque peice plus it won't wilt. As pretty as flowers are, perhaps this would be a better way to go??

http://www.weddingdayoriginals.com/Make_Crystal_Bouquet_Kit.asp
Here I can buy a kit and make my own crystal bouquet, I can also go to Micheals and pick up some blue crystals which accent my colors and switch a few of the aurora bourials beads for the sapphire blue beads...maybe this ties everything together and I can finish with some blue feathers or pretty ribbon...and it will last forever, a nice keepsake of the wedding

http://www.mydivinewedding.com/8534+Heart+Shaped+Unity+Sand+Ceremony+Set

We've decided on doing a sand ceremony instead of a unity candle. It hink this is a nice touch and we're also going to have black and blue sand to connect our colors to it.

Also I've decided the boutinerres and bouquets are going to be crystals. Mine and my MOH wil have the sapphire crystals and clear crystals they'll also be wrapped in blue ribbons and finished with this pearl wrap I bought. MOH's bouqet is smaller than mine. The rest of the bridesmaids will have clear crystal bouqets and will be wrapped in blue ribbon. FH and best mans boutenniers will have the same effect. Blue crystals and clear crystals with pearls and wrapped in blue ribbon the blue ribbon will be accented with white pearls the rest of the grooms men will have simple clear crystals wrapped in blue ribbon.

Alright, after many arguments with FH and I about a date, one was finally agreed upon. Friday August 10th 2012. It's kind of a long engagment but it's a neat date, 8/10/12. I'm rather excited at this point. On that day I will change from a Barr to a LiPuma. Also, it seems many of our important dates happen on the 10th. We first started dating on the 10(February) he was born on June 10th and will be married on august 10th :) Pretty neat huh?

*sigh* it's been a mess around here latey. Trying to move and get things together I only have internet at my parents so here I am. I have a few updates. I've decided to make my bridesmaids presants which are very pretty necklaces. I made them with swarski crystals one in clear and a deep royal blue and the other with black and deep royal. They sparkle and are so pretty my bridesmaids will love them. I need to make 3 more though. I went dress hunting too. I found a very pretty dress which I fell in love with though it doesnt match the whole outdoor wedding thing and it's pretty heavy though when it's busteled it's so beautiful I love it to death. It reminds me of a reem acra gown, though recently I've come across some reem acras which were a decent price. With a good seamstress I could have them hemmed and fitting a size 4 rather than a size 10. *sigh* Recently FH and I have decided to save up change and spare cash for the wedding. We rolled up some spare change FH has been keeping for a pretty long time and came up with over 100 bucks to go towards the wedding, that plus 50 out of our checks should add up sort of quickly which woud be nice. Anyway there are the updates.
